How to Obtain Plenary Indulgence During the Jubilee
To receive a plenary indulgence during the Ordinary Jubilee Year 2025, lay Catholics must meet the following conditions:
Be in a State of Grace
- Go to confession.
- Receive Holy Communion.
- Pray for the intentions of the Pope.
Perform One of the Following Acts
- Pilgrimage:
- Visit a designated Jubilee site (e.g., a major basilica in Rome or one of the Diocesan pilgrimage sites).
- Participate in liturgical or devotional activities such as Mass, the Rosary, or the Via Crucis.
- Eucharistic Adoration:
- Engage in prayer and meditation at a Jubilee site.
- Works of Mercy:
- Perform corporal or spiritual works of mercy, such as visiting the sick, assisting those in need, or forgiving offenses.
- Acts of Penance:
- Fast, abstain from distractions, or donate to charity.
For Those Unable to Travel
- Participate spiritually through prayer, uniting with Jubilee celebrations via media.
- Offer personal sufferings or hardships in union with Christ.
Apply the Indulgence
- The indulgence may be applied to oneself or to the souls in Purgatory.
